Tom's POVRay Lego Block

The picture above was made with this demo POV file and this Lego object POV file

About this Object

This lego block has a complete underside, which is useful. The top is labelled with "POVO" (not in an oblique font).

Specs

The lego block has one corner at the origin, and rises up in Y, four lego units in positive X, and 2 lego units in the postive Z direction (as shown by the blue block in the above image). A lego unit is 5/16 of an inch in the real world, and 5/16 POV units here. The height of the block is 1.2 lego units, or 3/8 POV units. The nibs rise up an additional 0.16 units, including the "POVO" text.

Problems and Future Work

The edges of the block are not rounded.

It would be fun to have lots of different blocks. And for efficiency, you could also have dummys (no top or bottom), top-only, and bottom-only blocks.
