(the panel discussions will not be included in the proceedings)
The manuscript deadline will be ** 30 Nov 2001 ** . Due to the need to edit and publish this volume promptly, no extensions can be granted to this deadline.
Manuscripts should be prepared in LaTeX, and require the following files:
newpasp.sty
- LaTeX style file required for ASP proceedings
newpaspman.tex
- sample manuscript containing instructions on
how to prepare your paper
copyright.pdf
- ASP copyright agreement
These files can all be downloaded by clicking here. Please follow these steps in preparing and submitting your manuscript:
1) Download the above three files. Run LaTeX on newpaspman.tex and read the instructions contained within it.
2) Make a copy of 'newpaspman.tex' called 'lastfN.tex', where last is your last name, f is your first initial, and N is a unique number in cases where you are submitting multiple manuscripts. For example, the second manuscript submitted by Bryan Gaensler would be called 'gaenslerb2.tex'.
3) Edit 'lastfN.tex' appropriately to prepare your manuscript.
4) Correspondingly name all figures 'lastfN_M.ps' or 'lastfN_M.eps', where last, f and N are as above, and M is the figure number. For example, the third figure in the above example would be called 'gaenslerb2_1.ps'
5) Ensure that LaTeX successfully runs on your manuscript, and that all figures, equations etc appear as intended. It is usually a good idea to print out and check through a hardcopy, as what appears on the screen might not correspond exactly to what appears in print.
6) Combine your manuscript and all figures into a single tar file, using the Unix command:
% tar cvf lastfN.tar lastfN.tex lastfN_*ps
where last, f and N are as defined above.
7) Compress this file using gzip, to save space:
% gzip lastfN.tar
8) Submit this file by uploading it to our anonymous ftp server:
% ftp sao-ftp.harvard.edu
For Name, type "anonymous"
For Password, type your email address
> cd pub/PSR_SNR
> binary
> put lastfN.tar.gz
> quit
9) Send an email to the editors at psr_snr@head-cfa.harvard.edu,
telling us the name of the file you have deposited.
10) Print out the copyright form (copyright.pdf), fill it out (the name
of the proceedings is "Neutron Stars in Supernova Remnants"), sign and
date it at the bottom, and then please send it to us at:
