To compress and display a large (e.g. ROSAT) image

Since a ROSAT PSPC image is 15360$\times$15360, the above command only displays a small part. To see the whole image, compress this by a factor of 30 to 512$\times$512. The factor of 30 compression is called a ``blocking factor'' (ie. block=30). Blocking factors work only with QPOE (*.qp) files and not with image (*.imh) files.

  tv> display ``xdata$rp110590.qp[block=30]'' 1

Note: the quotes are necessary when this modified file name is used in the command line mode.
