Places I've Skiied
- Snowshoe (1500)
in West Virginia
- The place I learned to ski. A very bad place to learn to ski. But I'd
love to go back, now that I know how. (Only part of the area is 1500 ft, the
rest is probably half of that.)
- Mad River Mountain
(300) in Bellefontaine, Ohio
- A bit steeper then Snow Trails (below), but not as much terrain
(tiny vs. tinier).
- Crystal Mountain (375)
in Michigan
- Better than Ohio skiing. But not quite as nice as Boyne, IMHO.
- Boyne Mountain
and Boyne Highlands (500,550) in Michigan
- I loved it here. If you like trails, go to Boyne Highlands. If you like
verticality, go to Boyne Mountain.
- Bristol Mountain (1200) in
New York
- Nice place as I recall.
- Whiteface Mountain, (3216) in Lake Placid,
New York
- Yikes. My only real ski resort (well, Snowshoe is pretty real, but not
this real). I didn't actually get to ski much (not the full height either)
but I was very impressed. I want to go back.
- Bear Mountain (1665)
near L.A., California
- This is quite a large facility compared with most places I've skiied,
but considered small by the "Real Skiers" in California.
- Snow Trails (350) in Mansfield,
Ohio
- The trails are actually all beginner to light intermediate.
- Holiday Valley
(750) in
New York
- Good size and difficulty for me.
