On March 11, 2000 we got a new puppy whom we named Kaja (kai-yuh).  It is a Polish name which means "Passionate Chewer of Sticks and Shoelaces".  She is a female yellow labrador retriever, with the special distinction of being a millenium dog -- she was born on January 1, 2000.

On Jan 20, 2001 we got a second labrador retriever. Majka (Miy-ka) was born on Dec. 6 in near Providence, RI. We got her from Antonio Napoleani, who was very friendly and everything you would expect from an east-coast Italian. After a few days of adjusting, the two dogs get along quite well. Sometimes the wrestling gets a bit rough, and we can hardly bear to watch as the two go at it... then 10 minutes later they are laying together on the couch, causing us to run for the camera to capture the next Kodak Moment.
