Education at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics

The Harvard Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics in Cambridge, Massachusetts is a scientific research center run jointly by Harvard University and the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory. Together these two institutions offer a wide variety of educational outreach programs.

The Smithsonian Institution became a site for the Research Experiences for Undergraduates program in 1994. The High Energy Astrophysics Division hosts this Summer Intern Program .

A department within the Harvard College Observatory was created specifically for science education in January, 1992. The Science Education Department offers several terrific programs and materials for educators and students alike.

The CfA also hosts monthly public observatory nights.
