Imtool [SUN users only]

To display an image or qpoe file, the imtool window must first be opened either from outside IRAF:

  cfa#: imtool &                             # open an imtool window

or from inside one with saoimage:

  xr> xplot
  xp> ximtool cfa#: 0

Go back to the gterm window and display.

  cfa#: man imtool

Some basic information follows:

F5 -- toggles header at the top of the image display

F6 -- toggles cursor position and count display

F7 -- sends a hardcopy to the printer

right mouse button - changes grey scale

center mouse button - 1st click - centers image at cursor position

center mouse button - 2nd click - zooms to next zoom factor (set in `Setup')

left mouse button - writes current cursor position to file `frame.n.m' in uparm

Setup - to change window setup ( e.g. black & white to color) select `Setup' in the window menu (right mouse button on top border). To change the zoom factors, click left mouse button next to function and type new factor ( e.g. ).
