Making a FITS primary array file or an ASCII table

xwfits can be used to make a fits file from any IRAF (.imh) image. It can also produce ASCII extension tables from any IRAF (.tab) table. 

  xd> xwfits visitor_b.imh mtq 1600          # writes the image `visitor_b'
                                                   # onto tape at 1600 bpi.
