LETG + HRC-S

Also the LETG has been measured between 1.45 and 7 keV although most of this energy range lies outside the specified bandpass for this grating. These measurements were done with the HRC-S, the prime spectroscopic detector for the LETG. Therefore, many more energies and higher counting statistics have been chosen.

Even at 7keV, the even orders of the diffracted spectrum are highly suppressed (1/100 of the 1st order). A scan between 1.45 and 1.67 keV (four shots) shows nicely the separation of lines in the higher orders (all data were taken at 5mm away from the focus!). The whole spectrum with many orders covers almost the total width of the detector (37 cm). (Text and image courtesy, Gisela Hartner and Peter Predehl, MPE.
