However, I'm biased but affirmative to say that the translation could mislead the author's intention. We often joked about stars by saying we can change constellations (each country has different constellations, not limited to Greek mythology). I doubt that the author intend to change coordinates (RA and DEC) of stars nor to detach a star from its association/binary companion via statistics.
